queen of hearts

When I arrived at work today, Mary was busy in the kitchen with the Valentine's day baking. The shortbread hearts were destined to become either Jammie Dodgers (two hearts sandwiched with jam) or Empire Biscuits (two hearts sandwiched with jam and iced), and both sold out very quickly once the cafe opened.

We are trying a new system of working in Front of House, which involves changing roles every hour throughout the day. I liked the variety of jobs and the day certainly seemed to pass a lot quicker.

After work there were the usual Tuesday activities - gym, sauna, swim, shop. Arriving home, I was met by Jess and Sarah coming down the drive to meet Ian, who was giving them a lift to the Hart Fell Hillrunning club's outing to Trostan, near Mabie. Jess was very, very excited!
