Aww!

I feel the luckiest person today and am lost for words of gratitude.
This small tortoiseshell butterfly appeared on a lampshade this morning. He must have been hibernating here all winter. Can you see the dust on his wings!!!
As if that wasn’t special enough, he then opened his wings and has been moving around the room all day.
Small tortoishell butterflies are amongst the first to emerge in the spring after hibernating.
Now to keep him ‘ safe’…
