The way to a man’s ❤️

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all.
Well they do say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
I know someone who will agree!

Mr C is off bowling this afternoon, and I am about to prepare our special Valentine’s evening meal.

Our main course is Beef Wellington. Very cleverly made into two heart shapes by our butcher.

For dessert I am making Soft Pistachio Meringues filled with oranges and rhubarb.
All local ( except for the oranges) and seasonal.

The wine is one we haven’t had before, so fingers crossed we like it.

Yesterday’s quiz ended up with two possible answers.

1. Betty’s. Opened in 1919 by Swiss confectioner Fritz Bützer who changed his name to Frederick Belmont and married a Yorkshire lass.

2. Farrah’s. Established in 1840. Famous for Harrogate Toffee in the iconic Blue and silver tin.
