If you can't beat them...

Blue Tit

Another from my "just in case" shots.  I know I am at the moment rather flooding my blips with Blue Tits, the reason is I am watching them closely trying to see if they are preparing to nest and which box they are likely to choose.

Climate change is making the nesting season more than a little uncertain.  Breeding for most birds has to be synchronised with the chick's food supply.  Day length is one of the main triggers for the parents to begin nesting, if the main food for the chicks is say caterpillars they may be out and about owing to temperature.  If the temperature arrives too soon and the chicks haven't hatched, then breeding success will be low.
