Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A lovely spring day, no wind. Denise took Archie out for a walk while I did my exercises and JR went to the gym.

When Archie came back, he and I went for a walk. We took the bus down town, and walked through the Gardens, just for a change. It was glorious. I took lots of photos of visitors (on their phones) and Archie hopped up on the fountain wall to have a better look. It’s usually fenced off, to deter people from ‘swimming’!! (There used to be an actual sign!)

Archie had a run around with Bertie, a wee furry crossbreed, while I had a chat with Bertie’s dad, who was enjoying the nice weather too.

Back up the steps at the other end, and a short wait for the bus home. That makes quite a good walk - not too long - with more options for photos than the Meadows.

Archie is so good on the lead now, he doesn’t pull like he used to, but just trots along beside me, with not too much stopping to sniff and/or piddle. The harness makes him behave more sensibly, though he always tries to sneak off when he sees it brought out instead of his collar.

Archie then went out for another walk in the afternoon with JR while I did a few more exercises.

I tried the ‘long exposure’ option in the iPhone. (Extra) I’ve just discovered this, and while not as good as a DSLR camera, of course, it’s useful. I certainly do not miss my ‘big’ camera, or carrying my camera bag.
