(Re)Birth of an Aspen

After yesterday's long-range view, let's draw closer in.

The yellow-green of these aspen leaves heralds the pulse that throbs across the park! Everywhere you look are signs of spring: grasses greening, mallards swimming together looking for a spot to build their dream nest, wildflowers just now blooming, young bucks with velvet antlers.

These nickel-sized aspen leaves are just now big enough to quake when a gentle breeze blows. You might think that roaring water from snowmelt or the call of birds would drown the soft sound out, but you'd be oh-so wrong.
