This is a native bird of New Zealand. 


A regular visitor to our garden, usually for a drink of sugar water, but often to see what is happening in the garden - they have a reputation of being inquisitive and bossy!


I was in the garden photographing butterflies when this bird arrived so turned my camera in ‘his’ direction.



Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s butterfly castle. It certainly keeps them safe from those insects who find them a delicacy!
