Gent

Or Ghent, as we call it in the UK. An arty day, looking at contemporary art at SMAK, fine art at Museum voor Schone Kunsten as well as some amusing reality.

It was raining heavily, despite which the City looked colourful. But the highlight of today surprised me, inside the St Baafskathedral, which is today's blip, is an incredible "polyptych" painting by van Eyck - Adoration of the Mystic Lamb. Definitely no photography allowed there! I am usually left cold by religious paintings but this one, completed in 1432, was breathtaking.
