Shingle and shadows
Woke to a brilliant sunrise (see extra) and this turned into a lovely sunny day. We had a leisurely morning and then walked along the promenade to buy fish for the evening (and lunch as they do their own delicious flaky smoked salmon). On the way back Gordon went off to do some exploring and I sat with my book by the sea in the sunshine.
Later we went to Dungeness (blip), a place we both love - there is such space and an atmosphere all of its own. On the way we found another of the Medieval Churches of Romney Marsh. This was number 12 out of 14. We have enjoyed finding them one by one over the years.
This one was the church of St Augustine at Snave. A 13th Century rather bleak little church is the only one that is now redundant and is cared for by the Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust. It is apparently known for an approach by an avenue of daffodils - today it was snowdrops (see extra).
