Starting....

Finally missed my cold wax and oil so much that i brought some supplies over from the studio and started!!!   This is an example of how i often begin....the 4 squares looked like the bottom left one - then i put white on top of all of them.  This gives me a good base from where to start....into who knows what will show up next :)   i have a vague idea of what i'm looking for...but who knows where it will go!

It's just been so cold that i couldn't deal with starting wood stove etc., and i was getting bored with the material i was playing around with.  The process of 'playing' in the sketch book is always very enjoyable and very helpful and fuels my paintings...but there comes a time when i just need to put paint on paper - or canvas!!!

Much happier now....and the temps have gone up from yesterday's -25, it's only -8 right now!!!
