Mainly lapwing with a few golden plover.  

I haven't been up to Langbar with my camera since spring last year and it made for a lovely change, particularly with the still weather.  I chatted with a guy who was part of the family who owned the estate. He was chopping logs but I'd caught his eye staring at a tree. I'd heard my first green woodpecker! He loved nature too so it was great sharing a few moments in the sunshine with him.

We pottered on for a while - there wasn't much on the ground but a huge flock of golden plover were in the air and then all these lapwings came along. Four red kites later, I was pretty pleased with our outing despite not seeing the green woodpecker.
