Cold-Eeze

I knew I had taken other pictures the other day than cheesy video game art. Anyways this was going to be my blip from the other day, but I forgot I had taken them (since I did it w/my cell phone).

Smokey - this is for Laura since she always wants more pictures of her =)~
Dwarf Hampster - this little guy was going to be my blip - pretty cute huh. I normally don't like small creatures like this, but I liked these guys.
Ferrets - These guys were hilarious, my friend had one and always talked about how she adored it. I never quite saw the attraction, but today I did. If they didn't have a tendency to smell, I would have thought more seriously about getting one. I would just love to see the dynamic between the ferret and my cat Smokey.

Well started today out by doing something that I haven't done in 4 years - going to the doctor. This sore throat was just too much to bear so I was thinking it was Strep since it was for the most part the only symptom I had. Well, according to the rapid test, I don't have it. He told me to do the salt water thing and take throat things. Since it's been so long though I did have other questions that I had been meaning to ask a doctor like about my dislocated (or he thinks its just a bone that chipped) thumb and what not.

After I spent the rest of the day feeling well sick and achy. Once I got the sore throat under control, a raging head ache came on. For now though (thank you Excedrin), I feel somewhat okay and since I've been napping all day I'm not tired. I did watch the movie El Salvador, it was about a war photojournalist - nothing too great. They did talk about Robert Capa though who I knew nothing about until I did a presentation on him in college.

He was a war photojournalist that had survived a career of close calls in combat and just when he was about to retire he stepped on a land mine in Vietnam. Here's his wikipedia page. They don't have too much in terms of his work, my favorite stuff is his D-Day work, but that's just because I'm most interested in WWII stuff. Seeing all these pictures made me think of whatever happened to my B&W camera that I got during photography class in high school... hmmm.

Later I watched Bourne Identity, which I swore I saw, in fact I know I did because I remember the end music so well. Oddly enough though, I didn't remember one part of the movie. Funny how you can completely forget a movie.

Was supposed to go to a cubs game tonight, but had to bail on that. Oh my blip is of some over the counter stuff I've been taking - great picture I know.

It's on an issue of psychology today w/an article about depression. It's amazing to me (and really sad) how many people suffer from depression for their whole life and no matter what they do it's just a constant battle. I don't know much about the subject so it's been pretty enlightening thus far. It made me think of this woman who was at my old corporate job and had committed suicide at the age of around 44. Her sister wanted her note/poem to be sent around, so they sent it to everyone at corporate (which was over 1000 people). There was this line in there that always stuck with me, it was about how she was free and to not worry about her because she was finally at peace. I just remember never thinking about the issue in that light before. Let' see I started there when I was 17 so that was about 9 years ago, huh, guess it really has stuck with me.
