Home, sweet home...Mintlaw Square

We had wall-to-wall sunshine today, although the temperature stubbornly stayed below 10 degrees. Still, blues skies lift the spirits and I took the opportunity afforded by the pleasant evening to walk from home to the Gala committee meeting in the local hostelry in the square tonight instead of taking the car. It's only four weeks until the Gala, so it's weekly meetings from now on to make sure that all the arrangements are in place to ensure a great weekend for the village. This is the first year I've been on the committee and I've been really impressed by the commitment and great organisational skills of the small group of volunteers that have run this event for ten years. Let's hope it warms up a bit by the 7th of June!
