Puzzling
I went down to the Trinity Rooms to meet friends. I was the first to arrive, and started playing with some vintage games and puzzles I had donated. Others joined me and J and L started doing a strange double sided circular jigsaw, as seen above. There was a story-puzzle to be solved too, which they read out in terrible Southern US accents. Then Union S. came in and started doing UK regional accents. I guess you had to be there to find it funny.
A client of mine turned up, with no money and empty cupboards, so I ended up phoning the food bank on his behalf. The food bank lady turned up and took his order. I got him a second hot dinner. He ate up, and left.
We completed the jigsaw puzzle, in between eating lunch and chatting. Then we had to flip it over, using two game boards from other games. At least I would remember how to have fun if we ever had another Lockdown, though of course it would not be much fun without friends around. I'd worry about my lonely clients, too.
Came home, attended poetry Zoom (session 3 of poets of NZ, to be continued next week...) then chatted to my sister on voice call, and then the same sister and my mother by video call. My mother was delighted to see me, and offered me a cup of tea. I had to thank her, and explain that I wasn't actually there in her flat.
A friend called round with a cake I'd commissioned. It's not actually my birthday till Sunday, but CleanSteve and I decided to sample it. Dark Chocolate and pistachio, mmmm. Also bought tickets for my sister K. and I, for Womad festival in the summer. Not long now, ha ha.
Oh! I saw my first crocus today, soaking up the sun.
