Students
Prior to the pandemic, we often had up to a thousand students on site on any one day. As we recover from all restrictions, they have started to trickle back. Today there were around 200, and what a kerfuffle they caused. Before, we were used to them, the staff had systems in place and most days were busy but organised. Now, we have new staff, a lot of volunteers and no one seemed to know what to do! At one point, we heard on the radio, that having been refused entry to the castle, as it wasn’t open yet, staff had been found to allow them in, but now they had disappeared. There was consternation over the airwaves, as to where they might be. My colleagues and I were escorting our own school coach up the drive and looked to our left! I just had to stop and take a photo of them all moat side taking selfies.
I literally am dealing with the weeks one day at a time now, but always grateful for Friday evening, knowing I don’t have to go out in the dark next morning, or the long drive in!
