The Far Side Project

Not a plant in sight! I managed to spend some time on the part of the garden which has come to be known as ‘The Far Side’ because it sits in a corner cut off by the burn which runs through the garden. It had been neglected for decades - covered in ivy, nettle and blackthorn. We started to remove the ivy last January and of course the stone wall collapsed. Some self down sycamores were removed in February. The dyker joined us in May and has been with us ever since as the whole wall has to be rebuilt. It’s almost complete no apart from a section left open to allow access to a digger to clear roots. Our job now is to rake and level the site, removing remaining roots. We’ll measure and lay out our design and then plant (mainly shade lovers). Should keep us busy!!
