It’s the start of the Upper Lake at Glendalough in County Wicklow..
My friend came to visit today and we decided on a ‘spur-of-the-moment wee skite to walk up here..!
It’s a particularly peaceful, beautiful place ...a very ancient Monastic site of St. Kevin’s ...
As you could imagine, it is a huge, huge tourist attraction but this time of the year on a weekday...we had it practically to ourselves..!
In my extra I’ve included a few more photos.the famous Round Tower..a wee robin who followed us all the way (hoping we had a picnic, but too cold for that today)..and a quick view across the Wicklow Hills as we drove across the Wicklow Gap...we did the full circle and came back by the Sally Gap...!!
It was an invigorating afternoon out ...and of course in the local village of Laragh we had a well deserved sandwich and tea...!!
