I couldn't decide!!

In an attempt to continue procuring images of native flora I spent the morning in the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens that are part of the KC Irving Environmental Science Centre at Acadia University. Whew - that's a lot of names...

I found the jumping spider nestled in the developing sporangia (spore producing structures) of an Interrupted Fern (Osmunda claytonia). While in the lab trying to get a nice macro image of a shadbush/saskatoon berry flower (Amelanchier canadensis), I noticed a flash of red scooting around the petals. With a bit of luck and lots of patience I was able to capture the l'il spider mite. Can you see it???

I figured both deserved the blip limelight!
