A group of about 26 of us assembled for a walk along the river, most of us intending to have lunch in the local pub afterwards. The pub had been offering half-price lunches all through January. It was all booked and menu choices had been pre-ordered by email earlier in the week. This morning disaster struck when a kitchen catastrophe occurred rendering the pub incapable of serving food.
We walked the walk, we popped into the pub afterwards and blow-me-down, the publican had been on the phone to another pub and secured half-price dining there instead. Such an amazingly good day. All wonderful people and all so supportive. At least four singles have become two couples in the last month and I couldn't be happier for them.
