Out of respect to pots and holes these will now be referred to as Colossal Receptacles for All Types of Effluent on Roads( C.R.A.T.E.R.s)
I’ve a good mind to write to my MP* about this problem. 
A government enquiry should be set up to establish how much Rishi Sunak knew about the potholes/ Craters of Warwickshire before whomever is the current Transport Minister was appointed. The report will take three years and no action will be taken before the results are known.
Meanwhile a hotline will be set up. 
“ Thank you for calling the Crater hotline. Your call is important to us .  We are experiencing unprecedented numbers of Crater reports due to Covid and the Situation in Ukraine. Thank you for holding. You are caller number seventy eight in the queue….
Did you know you can report your Crater online….blah blah blah”

Thanks to the stunning success of Brexit there is now a shortage of low paid immigrant workers to carry out this important work, so the council will probably have to employ agency engineers at a hundred pounds an hour to ensure the safety of all our citizens and road users.

Eventually a van will turn up and half a day will be spent erecting cones around the offending gaping hole. After a tea break a dollop of wet tarmac will be shovelled in which will last until the next frost or the next double decker bus comes along whichever is the sooner. Frost probably.

*Our local MP is Nadim Zahawi. He hasn’t got much else on his plate at the moment so should be able to deal with this.

A few weeks ago LooseCanon trashed his wheel on damaged road surface ( left photo now supposedly fixed) and more seriously a friend of ours got concussion and had to have a scan following a fall from his bike in a water filled invisible pothole nearby. 
I went on a post holiday rather slow run this morning and found that while LooseCanon’s pothole has been filled in , much more damage has occurred due to the recent rain and frost and the big buses which have rerouted along this unsuitable road. 
This is a serious problem.
