Blackbird outside the Crispin Centre, Street

This evening when I arrived for a French class, I found the caretaker outside, looking at this blackbird. "If only I had my camera" he said. I remembered I had my compact in my bag, and this is the result!
The caretaker said the blackbird had been making noises at him, and he then discovered that the bird and its mate had a nest in a rather low bush - when he stayed still, the parents continued feeding their babies, until this one, the male, flew up in the tree to sing to us.
We just hope the nest will remain safe from cats and other predators ....
