Found It!

Before hopping out of bed this morning, I had a long chat with St. Anthony. We had torn the house apart looking for this sword. Hubby’s closets and study have never been so organized. A prime example of making something good out of a bad situation. When the Knights did a major change to the Fourth (Patriotic) Degree uniform, hubby decided that at age 70, it wasn’t worth the expense to buy the new, very expensive suit. The cost has come down with financial help from the organization since so few men stayed in the color corps. Weeks ago, hubby ordered the new uniform and started his search for the sword. It was hidden behind other treasures in a dark corner of his basement workshop. He was such a “happy boy” when he came upstairs. He’d looked down there several times before. The sword is a must have for Color Corps participants. So our prayers were answered once again. I filled the bird feeders. So many varieties showed up almost immediately. I watched two (I believe red tailed) hawks fly around the neighborhood. They must have already had breakfast because they ignored the birds in the trees and at the feeders. Then I worked on creating a spreadsheet with the full name and birthdates of the family members from my mother to her great, great grandchildren. My sister gathered the data and I will assemble it. Hubby is cleaning the ash drop; the ashes have become quite hard and packed where they cannot be removed. Sounds like he is cleaning parts of the basement now. We have another quiet evening by the fireplace planned. Wishing you a pleasant and successful day also. Thanks for the visit, stars and nice comments lately. “The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.” - Marty Feldman
