I saw this in German first but when I realised it was a translation in English I bought a copy as a post exam treat. Love this so far. Set in gritty Edinburgh, more Muirhouse than Morningside. Written by an African writer who manages to weave a different kind of magic through the citythan you might be familiar with.

In other news I think we have covered the bleakest part of German history. I picked up an English copy of the Neil MacGregor book about German history. I have heard a lot about the war time and the wall but from further back I don't know that much. Booked the next German class which is online only. I have been warned this level is starting to get much harder than before so I will need to spend more time working on it. The results from the exam, like most things take weeks to come back.
