Aquilegia
This 'Columbine' came into flower today - even though the weather was far cooler than yesterday. The colour stood out amongst the greens and purples in the border. These little plants self-seed and I am always on the look out for a colour that is new to my little plot. They are 'common' but so charming, in a cottagey way.
I had a late start to my day because of a migraine headache and felt as if I had lost the most-part of it. I am on half-term holiday at home, eldest daughter revising for GCSE's and youngest away with her father in Scotland. The pony was ridden before tea and his friend, our chestnut conundrum, appeared to be lame when he came in - so the Vet will see him tomorrow.
So much for relaxation, at least 'Grand Designs' is on the telly later!
