My father-in-law loves orchids.

Loved dinner with my mother-in-law. Avocado toast w/o the avocado - with picante sardines, butter, garlic, salt, cherry tomatoes, lemon juice, and onions instead. Messy and delicious. 

The first British Sea King helicopter has arrived in Ukraine. The Sea King was primarily designed for performing anti-submarine warfare. Britain plans to send three in total. 


There has been increasing pressure on Germany to allow countries to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine. They are German made and the contracts require German consent to send on. Germany is reputedly ready to authorize Poland to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine according to Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock today. The US has some sophisticated tanks that Germany has been pushing to have sent to Ukraine, but for political cover. The tanks apparently require a lot of O&M and thus aren’t as suitable as the Leopards. This decision came after 50 countries met at the US Ramstein Air Base in Germany and agreed to supply Kyiv with billions of dollars’ worth of military hardware, including armored vehicles and munitions, but Germany still hadn’t decided on the Leopards. Poland said it is ready to send 14 of them. 


The Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Paris is having the ‘The Facets of Freedom’ exhibition. The works displayed "are a manifestation of freedom, whether it be creative, physical, intellectual, sexual or emotional", said Viktoria Gulenko, the center’s director. Some were rescued in a bullet-proof train that was shot at by Russians. Some were wrapped in rugs because the museums couldn’t get packing materials. 
A 19 year old Russian man was visiting his sister in Canada when Russia invaded Ukraine. He has finally received his conscription notice but it is ok because Canada has granted his refugee status.
