Back On The Water

With ‘iffy’ weather, Christmas, New Year and apathy it seems a while since I rowed on a Sunday morning but I made it today.
We were first lot out, back by 1030 so that those “training” for the IoS could go later which presented them with the problem of getting the gig out in a really low tide.
Most of us didn’t seem concerned as we enjoyed our McD’s breakfast wraps and coffee in the warm.
Home, glass of water and then Paddy and I set off for our walk, chilly but no wind so we took our time and enjoyed it.
Home, showered and coffee, with stew cooking in the slo-cooker for the second week running. Some admin to sort out before the “Warship: Tour Of Duty”, the BBC2 six part series on the Royal Navy’s deployment to the South China Sea.
One of likely results of the series will be the deluge of “it wasn’t like that in my days” comments on social media in the coming weeks.
