A Day In The Life

Messenger

Cherokees consider Tufted Titmice to be Messenger Birds • I put out a seed block on Thursday before the snowstorm hit and it’s been nonstop busy today. Lots of photos to choose from but I couldn’t resist these long gray toes :) • Who knows if it’s a male or female because they look the same. To tell the difference you must observe their behavior and listen to their call • While building their nest in preparation for egg laying they actually pluck hair from living animals like squirrels, woodchucks, even humans! Best not get too close to that nest site, LoL! • They’re one of the most trainable birds too and can be easily taught to eat out of your hand • We teamed up to finish the shoveling, pretty much making room for the next storm tomorrow night, which means more shoveling! Yippee!! • For the first time this winter I’ll be setting up a carrot and apple buffet for the deer. They’re going to be so excited! With snow on the ground, their food sources become greatly diminished • I’m learning two new songs but slow at changing chords. As Bert reminds often “there’s no substitute for repetition. Practice as often as you need to to feel comfortable with it.” I can hear his voice in my head :) • Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend!
