Hello, Clarice

A small flock of European Starlings invaded the lilac trees early this morning. Multiple birds collected on each of the suet feeders flapping their wings in a feeding frenzy. Despite their boorish behavior I do like their iridescent winter plumage. Hopefully on a future visit I’ll better capture those purple and green hues, but for today I rather liked this unusual pose, almost creepy, not looking much like a bird at all. This is a non-breeding adult, if I’ve researched correctly • MrsP suggested “Creature Feature” as a title • Another cold but sunny January day here, and it’s Friday!
