Beads from Ghana

Day 14

The plane landed in Ouagadougou, Burkino Faso, to let off some passengers and take on more. It was midnight before we got dinner but nevertheless I enjoyed my champagne and then lentil stew with pasta and red wine while I watched “Yesterday”.

We managed a 3 hour sleep before landing at Charles de Gaulle at 6.30am. Going through security was not such a hassle this time. We had a croissant and coffee. The home flight was late in taking off and the metro wasn’t running when we landed so we got the bus to Gosforth. Luke and Nathaniel were walking over the bridge to meet us. It was lovely to see them all - briefly, as #3 daughter was taking them to their drama club.

There’s snow on the hills and our house is very cold but the heating is now on, as is the fire. I’m going to have a long soak in the bath with my book “The song of Achilles”.

Thank you very much for following our chaotic trip. Our daughters are telling us it’s time we settled down to do holidays more age-appropriate. Mmmh.
