"Troubled water"

Today I set off to our local park to try to see if there were any ducklings as the park nearby has none at the moment.

This weir is usually gently cascading but after the continual downpour during the night it was so different. Last night at our local camera group we has a talk on landscapes and I intended to try some of the settings for today's blip.

It didn't work out as the rain made it impossible to see my dials so this is my capture for today. The river was about 4 or 5 inches off the bridge and looked likely to cover it should this rain keep up.

This park was a favourite with us, as children we seemed to spend every spare minute there as we lived close by. The weir that I captured was a place we swam as kids, not so sure that would be possible nowadays, and certainly not today. The ironwork across the top of the picture was a favourite seat where we balanced to skim stones. Oh to be young and that brave (or foolish)

I also managed to find a family of ducks with 9 young, hopefully they will still be there tomorrow.
