Ukrainian defense forces repelled attacks near 16 settlements and hit nearly 30 Russian positions and took out seven Russian anti-aircraft missile systems. 

Russia lost several combat aircraft near the end of last year. Some of them were war related. Some were not, and may be a result of the sanctions. They've had a whole series of crashes, six between September and the end of November, and it might mean it is hard for them to make and maintain parts needed to keep the aircraft safe. Multiple aircraft types, that have and have not seen combat, are crashing. They also might have sloppy ground crews and a lack of qualified military pilots. 

Russia seems scared Ukraine will hit Moscow. Air defense systems were reportedly installed on top of several buildings, including one used by the Russian Defense Ministry.


Russian state TV recently showed an ally of Putin's, Vladimir Solovyov, giving a pep talk to troops, explaining that Russia is fighting a holy war against Satanism. "We're on the side of God! We are defending divine laws. We are defending our faith.
