Lecturing

After a pretty winter walk with Django I took the bus into Edinburgh with, by chance, a friend in the College of Art. As always, it was interesting to compare notes on different ends of the University. He was amazed that I deliver just nine lectures each year.

Today's was the fun, motivational lecture that I hope will enthuse the students into engaging with the course. I felt that it went well, and I've clearly made an impact on a couple of the 80 students who attended - of 100 registered. The stick to encourage engagement is the knowledge that the video recordings will disappear in a week's time.

After that it was lunch, and an Office Hour that a student actually made use of!
