Midnight Knitter
This is one of the things that can happen when you can't fall asleep at night. Twitchy legs, twitchy brain. As you're sitting there staring into space, you remember that Mr S asked for a new pair of knitted slippers. Well here's the yarn, the pattern can be dug out of its hiding place, needles assembled, and--go! Fat yarn and fat needles are a big change from what I've been doing for awhile, so this is really breezing along. Two strands of yarn, and the color combo is because I didn't have enough of either color. The slippers are knitted flat, and seamed up the back. It's a clever puzzle to figure out. This is the third pair in eleven years--eventually they just wear out, even with leather soles.
It rained pretty much all day. Every time I'd think of maybe going out, bam, it would start up again. Some heavy drenching, but mostly just steady rain, the kind you almost don't see when you look out the window, but boy it sure is visible when you open the door.
