Windows

Up well in time to see the sunrise, and then after a bit more time spent staring out the big windows, got layered up for an hour out on the bike, knowing full well that it had been freezing overnight. I got about a mile down the road and came to the conclusion that it was just too sketchy out there - this is the main road down the coast and the ice was all over it, any surface water from the weekend's rain had simply frozen, and combined with the strong sunlight I couldn't really tell what were the safe bits to ride on and what bits were potentially lethal. I abandoned, back to the cottage for coffee and reading before having to pack up and check out.

Up to Rothesay for a bit of the woodland walk from The Serpentine, lunch at the Ettrick Bay tearooms for the second day running, and then the 13.05 ferry back to Wemyss Bay, home in Edinburgh a couple of hours later.

Bute, you were fabulous again, looking forward to the next time already.
