Reflected Lights but not the Glory

We had an evening meal in a local Hotel a short drive from the house. The hotel was built in 1790 by a minor C18th landowner and politician.
The photograph ties the original house and current hotel to the game of cricket since the owner and his descendants granted to the servants of his Residence the right to play cricket and form a club for that purpose in the grounds. The current owners of the hotel continue such beneficence through sponsorship and I understand the local council care for the pitch to some extent. The cricket club functions in local leagues when the Scottish summers allow.
I tell this story to boast that I played cricket there as young man -- bathed in no glory I should say; and indeed the photograph reflects intrusive lights indicating a photographer no more skilled than the cricketer!
