With our daily delivery of Metro newspapers in the bureau, I am slowly becoming a big fan of this journalist and his double page spreads about the wonders and woes of the world. He's considered Twitter, the English language and the origins of life to name just a few of his rambling topics!

Today - nicknames....

Now, I have had a few nicknames in my life to date!

MELON
I was called Melon by the girls when we were at primary school after a bus trip to the swimming pool led the class to thinking about fruits that rhymed with our names!

HELEN JEFFERY FERRERO ROCHER
The brainchild of Deano back at home, at secondary school on the idea that I wasn't a big fan of my own name, I don't like the name Jeffery and I hate Ferrero Rocher chocolates! To this day, Dean will still call me this when I go to home badminton nights!

And then we have the most recent one......HOB!

.....it's a long story!

I'll let you decide if any of my nicknames were created through someone being caring and affectionate towards me as the article states. I'd like to hope that at least one from this random collection was! haha! Melon, HJFR or Hob....?! Mm.... :)
