From a Woman's Hand
Next to my chair I noticed this lovely shadow from the lace curtains as the morning light came through the window. It highlighted a piece of handmade lace I bought from an elderly woman in St. Petersburg, Russian in 2005. The quilted tablecloth was made by my dear friend Dotty who died at 95 a few years ago. The embroidered panel I made during the first year of the pandemic and features buttons from my mother, grandmother and auntie, all highly skilled with a needle and thread. Today, woman's hands will be busy during my 'playdate" with friends in the studio. The work of women's hands continues.
