Samson’s Stone
An example of a glacial erratic that I have walked close to on various rambles around Loch Venachar. We had intended to walk to the Falls of Leny but the water level was far too high so after a circuit of the town which Islay tolerated we walked up to Samson’s Stone instead.
It rained heavily later on in the afternoon and neither of us were inclined to venture out again. Just before it got dark I borrowed Lorne’s wellies and we managed a short circuit around Deanston Farm meeting Islay’s two dog chums along the way, a sweet lab and a very large mixed dog who conversed loudly with Islay through the fence.
The dog walker comes tomorrow so I have a free day, more or less.
