After a walk

A more relaxing start to the day than yesterday, and much better weather than I was expecting. We set off explore Doune Ponds nature reserve, a former sand quarry. There is an excellent network of paths and several ponds, not a huge amount of wildlife but interesting enough, and we saw a red squirrel.
We returned via the well marked town trail which included Doune Castle and a lovely if muddy riverside walk. Walking at dog speed it took us over three hours to go not much further than 4 miles.
