Cobrador

Today at de Las Ventas was our first and probably (for B certainly ) last corrida. De Las Ventas is famous (some say most famous) bullring in Spain. Comparing to modern sport arena is very basic, looks and feels football stadiums of some 30 years ago. We were sitting on barrera which is literally first row so one can see drop's of bulls blood on torero's shirt. It was that close. Evening had three toreros each of them fighting two bulls, one I took photo of is Rafael Rubio "Rafaelillo" and bull was five year old Cobrador. This was second fight of the evening and probably best one. Although one can understand why people say that corrida is art because essence is in the elegance of toreadors movement, still it is heart breaking to see bulls killed for pure pleasure.
Rest of the day was much more peaceful. We went to see Museo Thyssen Bornemisza late morning. It is strange museum with two general collections running in parallel, one main of Thyssen - Bornemisza and one of late Thyssen's wife Carmen each taking half of each floor. Although weaker than Prado still great museum.
After museum we walked to Plaza Mayor, lunched at Los Galayos and visited Cathedral de Nitra
