Both Sides Now

We had our Fungus Group meeting today, and given the weather, I wasn’t expecting many people, so the 10 people who showed up was a pleasant surprise. We decided to do the business part of the meeting first, as it was still a bit dull and damp, so we went in the cafe and did our planning. By the time we’d finished, the sun had come out and we had a lovely stroll round the park. One of the car parks was bounded by large logs which, to our delight, were covered in all manner of fungi. For me, the highlight was this Splitgill - a really unusual fungus which until today, I’ve only seen on silage bales. It has an equally interesting underside too - see extras. We also visited a small area of woodland where there were quite a few fungi .
