Tunnel Vision
Pouring down this morning so went and got a tray of pansy plugs to change over my planters at the front of the house.
Out came the ornamental cabbages and in went the pansies. Got a bit wet but felt better for doing it.
A cheap filler till the bulbs come up.
Makes going in and out of the house more cheerful.
Then to my surprise the sky turned blue and the rain stopped.
Didn’t fancy the very muddy tracks around here so got the next bus to Ilkley and did the riverside walk.
That blew the cobwebs away though l didn’t walk as fast as usual.
Bus home and watched Sleepless in Seattle sat with the heated throw over me, very cosy.
Now getting ready as l’m out to dinner at my friend’s home. She was 64 on Christmas Eve so it’s a late celebration and we are having lots of Beatles music,.
No doubt l will tell them about when l saw them in concert 50 years ago.
The food will be good , she’s a brilliant cook but l have decided to drive so won’t be drinking, have bought some cans of non alcoholic G&Ts. Also bought her a couple of bunches of white tulips when l got the pansies.
Putting on an extra of Kendell’s Bistro where Rebecca and l ate last night before the theatre, that’s fulfilled a long time ambition to go there.
It’s usually fully booked but we just got lucky, it was quiet when we went in and full when we left, highly recommended if you are in the area near the Playhouses.
Got a phone call from my brother. He is to have an operation in a few days, not good news but he is 91 and never been ill, don’t know much more at the moment but he is very fit and feels healthy.
