Grey & muddy

‘Grey & muddy’ kind of sums up the beginning and end of the day, but it was much better in the middle.

I came down first thing to find destruction in the room little Thierry has been in so far. I can’t believe how bad the carpet looked! :-(

But even before ramming the door open over the pulled up carpet and underlay, I had to step around 9 lots of dog poo. Cholmeley, in his old age, sometimes seems to not notice when it’s happening, whether he’s in or out.

And Tommy had distributed cat litter everywhere. But I had a packed lunch to do for MightyMouse as he started his mock GCSEs today, and he couldn’t find his tie.

It was a bad start. Cholmeley wouldn’t get up to go to the park so I took just Mabel. And the 2 cats had a hissy fit when I was trying to leave to get to church … and then to top it, I got a flat tyre.

In the crazy heat of the moment, I decided to drive home slowly despite the tyre. I was half way home when I realised I hadn’t looked for something Dot.T had left at church last Sunday and really really wanted so I turned around, slowly, and headed back. And then got stuck in a terrible traffic jam.

Grey & muddy indeed. And because I didn’t want more carpet destruction, I’ve changed the sleeping arrangements of the cats and dogs which meant I had to get the Christmas decorations down pronto. I went to bed v v late and just a little stressed about what I’d find the next morning.

Grey & muddy.
