Power?
On the third day of the new year it is very easy to take our current (pun intended) way of life for granted. These power lines cross the field behind our house. They work so we can all work everything. We barely give its invisible presence a second’s thought.
But in Central Europe the power lines and stations are being bombarded into inactivity. The frequency of this bombardment is likely to peak on 7th January when many Ukrainians celebrate Christmas.
There has to be a solution to all this inhumanity somewhere … but just now it’s very hard to see where.
I spent most of this grey, drizzly day making good progress with paper and electronic admin. I was very fortunate to have uninterrupted power, light and heat to complete it all.
