No chance to recreate yesterday's sun-kissed bird. Here's one that manages to be a cheery colour all by itself.

Had a lovely time in Glasgow yesterday. The sun shone all day and the frost didn't lift. Today is much cloudier and damp. We were supposed to be on a traditional new year walk with friends but we've pulled out of that. However, despite not having earned it through exercise, we're going to their house for lunch anyway. The food related tradition is four different soups, puddings of various types (usually a pavlova and sometimes
Ecclefechan Tart and sundry others), a cheeseboard and, for those who wish, a dram. The last won't be for either of us today. More like lemsip.

I'm  disappointed that we aren't doing the walk. Although we did manage to see our friends at New Year in 2021 and 2022 this is the first time since 2020 that there's been the full works of a walk and lunch at their house. I'm utterly fed up with this virus.
