On guard duty

The lovely Lucy is still with us. Her humans return home towards the end of the week and by that time she will have been with us for three weeks, her longest holiday with us.
It had snowed a little over night then the temperature dropped enough to freeze all damp surfaces. We were supposed to be joining friends for a late lunch several miles west of us. However, having encountered iffy road conditions on my journey to and from church, I felt reluctant to drive any further. One of the few down sides of the electric car is that it doesn’t give the driver much control in slippery conditions. We were disappointed to miss the social gathering but better safe than sorry.
