Blwyddyn newydd dda i bawb. Blwyddyn arall ar Blipfoto - a pwy a ŵyr beth a welwn eleni?

Mae'r ardal siopa Eglwys Newydd yn hir ac yn denau ac weithiau rydw i'n anghofio pa mor hir ydy e. Heddiw roedd angen rhai bwydydd arnon ni - doedden ni wedi siopa m wythnos lawn - felly es i allan ar fy meic. Es i ffordd hir, o gwmpas Ystum Taf i'r ‘diwedd’ y pentref. Nid yw'r ‘diwedd’, a dweud y gwir. Mae un siop arall ymhellach i fyny, tuag at y gyfnewidfa. Weithiau rydw i'n dymuno roedd Yr Eglwys Newydd yn fwy 'cryno', gyda phopeth yn yr un lle. Mae'n fel roedd e'n wastatir gan rholer-metlin. Mae'r rhan fwyaf o'r siopau yn un lle, llyfrgell un un arall, a chanolfan gymunedol rhywle arall eto. Byddai fe'n well gyda phopeth o gwmpas sgwâr pentref. Ond dydw i ddim yn meddwl rydw i'n mynd i gael fy nymuniad.

Happy New Year to everyone. Another year on Blipfoto - and who knows what we will see this year?

The Whitchurch shopping area is long and thin and sometimes I forget how long it is. Today we needed some groceries - we hadn't shopped in a whole week - so I went out on my bike. I went a long way, around Llandaff North to the 'end' of the village. It's not really the 'end'. There is one more shop further up, towards the interchange. Sometimes I wish Whitchurch was more 'compact', with everything in one place. It's like it was flattened by a steamroller. Most of the shops are in one place, a library in another, and a community center somewhere else. It would be better with everything around a village square. But I don't think I'm going to get my wish.

Not this year, anyway.
