Not the faintish peep of a firework round here last night but we did manage to make it to midnight!  After an apparently dramatic thunderclap and lightening bolt during the night, which I slept through, the first day of the new year was a lovely one. We took down the Christmas tree, hoovered, changed the beds, did a mound of washing and returned to normal(ish). Then went off for a trip round the circuit major taking in the Air India memorial and adjacent headland. It almost felt warm in the sunshine but now it's a chilly night. This is the view from the headland out to Mount Corrin - plus moon just appearing. So far so good!
