Punk on a Trunk

Happy New Year All!
Feeling quite chirpy about
Twenty twenty three!

We didn't sleep too badly, I think the rain put off some of the firework instigators :-D Ben woke briefly, just after midnight at some of the bangs but the noise settled really quickly and he went back to sleep easily, so we're winning!
We had a roast dinner and a walk in the woods.  It's very muddy and (you've guessed it) the water level was high!  But nothing much to report.  Ben picked up numerous Very Large Sticks (or branches..) he got very grubby and asked if he could wash his hands in a muddy puddle :-/ I tried to point out the lapse in logic but it was lost on him!
When we got home we took down the Christmas Tree, I quite like getting the living space back to normal.  We have Ben's birthday next week so I think as a family we don't have to hold on to the Christmas spirit too long as we always have the birthday just around the corner.  A little too close around the corner usually!  It often takes us by surprise.. but in fairness he was due on the 27th December which would have been WAY worse, so we mustn't grumble! 
Anyway, photo was some graffiti on a tree in the woods, not that it's necessarily a good thing but the idea of Punk on a Trunk made me smile.

So far, not a bad start to 2023.  Wishing everyone health and happiness :-D
