Flooding

I pitied anyone who had to be out and about this morning. The rain was very heavy and constant, overflowing plant pots (those with poor drainage) and soaking anything left out. Main roads in parts of Edinburgh were impassible with flooding.

While the weather improved after lunch, It still made the late afternoon walk more tricky. Our dog was not impressed.

So this morning was spent on admin and on soup making. One of our favourite recipes is a Jamie Oliver roasted red pepper, tomato chilli and basil soup. What takes the time is blackening the peppers to produce the sweetness. As the extra photo shows it looks harsh but the flavour is lovely.
